   This song is not about sex, it’s about NOT having sex.
   And I have 2 sons and 1 daughter, if my daugter (who is 17) would have lied about her age to a man in order to have sex with him, I? would still say it would be down right dumb to accuse him of rape, sure if he really knew she was underage he would diserve it but not otherwise.
   and as some others have said, no one ever interpreted this song the way you do because *newsflash* THAT’S OBVIOUSLY NOT WHAT IT’S ABOUT

He’s speaking of being a man falling for an underage girl. THere’s? no ignorance on my end. Look up statutory rape because CLEARLY you’re ignorant. This has nothing to do with feelings or emotions the girl may share back, the bottom line is the song is about lusting for an underage girl; if he acted on it, he would rightfully be arrested.

    By the way the lyrics were changed because he was asked by Ed Sullivan on whose show he was performing. At the time the lyrics were controversial. Gary changed them out of respect for Sullivan(Something that? Jim Morrison of the Doors did not do, in their performance of “Light My Fire”.

    Actually, yes, this does have to do with an older man being attracted to a younger woman, or girl (DAH)(no age stated). How naive? it is however, of those who think that men don’t face this all the time. For the past 40 years teenage girls are dressing and acting more provocatively than ever before. It is the good sense of however, and decency of men that prevents us from entertaining seriously such pursuits. It’s only the neanderthals that carry out this desire that are pedo’s.

    Hmm….you must be one of those guys on To Catch A Predator that says “I wouldn’t have done anything she didn’t want me to” thinking that’s a good and understandable answer then Chris Hanson responds “You know that still constitutes as rape right?” Ummm no dude.
